Rockland Forager
Welcome to Rockland Forager, a site dedicated to living sustainably and in harmony with nature.
This year we are featuring gourmet cuisine, using wild foods. This is the most fun I’ve had since I began cooking wild edibles, 35 years ago. You can read about our culinary adventures on the blog page.
My name is Paul Tappenden. I’m a naturalist, an environmental educator and a suburban forager. I also know a number of wild crafting skills, which I use regularly when wilderness camping and teaching others about basic survival.
I dearly love nature and have a deep awe of all living things, which is why I try to keep my foraging as respectful and sustainable as possible. My goal is to help recover the lost foods and life skills that society has all but forgotten. I feel it is of vital importance that we hold on to the old knowledge and that we each learn to be self sufficient
In these pages I hope to share my experiences and discoveries and those of other naturalists.
